Royalti Virtue have just taken on a few very talented young artists. They have just released a new single “Open Roads” which is collaboration between one of their youngest artists D3 ( 11 yrs old ) feat. Da’Rell Miller and our Top US Billboard artist Kim Cameron.
These guys were kind enough to answer a few question for us, here’s what they had to say.
Who inspired you to make music?
Kim – “I am not sure I have a specific person. Since I was little, I was drawn to it. I began my original project back in 2008 after a family member met with some horrible health issues. It felt easier to write my feelings in a form of a song…and, well, I was immediately hooked on the idea of expressing how I felt about things both on paper as well as in music. It was a new and fresh artistic step in self-expression for me”
Da’Rell Miller – “2pac, Lil Wayne, Michael Jackson, Backstreet Boys, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Ludacris, Eminem and my family”
Darell Scot Miller ( D3 ) – “2pac and Michael Jackson”
How supportive have your friends and family been?
Darell Scot Miller ( D3 ) – “My friends and family have been very supportive”
Da’Rell Miller – “Some of my family and friends are supportive, but they don’t believe I can really make it in music. Sometimes it gets to me but I don’t stop them or anybody from taking my dreams away”
Kim – “I have a wonderful friend, family and fan base. They love every new production I put out…more to see where I have gone or where they think I am going”
How did the collaboration come about?
Kim – “I met Da’Rell Miller through my manager. He had asked me to write a song about unity and bringing people of all walk of life together. I was surprised that he had asked me…I am hardly known for writing those types of songs, but I took on the challenge. I was very surprised how well the two of us fit together since I know almost nothing about the hip hop world. He and his nephew brought this wonderful world of rap that blended so smoothly around the melody. I had no idea we could make a record that sounded like butter by the time we were finished”
Can you tell us the story behind ‘Open Roads’
Da’Rell Miller – “The story behind Open Roads is to follow your own path and don’t let anybody judge you for who you are. I believe that we should not look at each other based on skin color, culture or anything that makes us different. We should love and support each other. It’s okay to be different and have different views but we should remember we all are here to get along and strive together”
Describe the track in three words.
Darell Scot Miller ( D3 ) – “Awesome, Exciting and Satisfying”
Da’Rell Miller – “Energetic, Emotional and Fun”
Kim – “Optimistic, Caring, Hopeful”
What has been your best gig?
Darell Scot Miller ( D3 ) – “Indiana’s Talent show in Indianapolis”
Da’Rell Miller – “My best gig when me and my old group would rap and dance outside of downtown during an event and would get a crowd around us. That was so fun and it showed we could be stars anywhere if we keep focus and working on our craft”
Kim – “Croatia’s Wave Festival! I had never been to Croatia and wow…what a beautiful country, the people, the food. The festival was on an island at night, surrounded by old castle walls. Could it get any better?”
What are your plans for 2018?
Kim – “This will be my big adventure year. My Manager and I are planning tours in unknown places, meaning, places I have never toured. I love adventure, new surroundings, so I look forward to the future. Always a great place for new song writing material!”
Da’Rell Miller – “Plans for 2018 is to participate isn some live events in the US as well as UK/Europe”
Darell Scot Miller ( D3 ) – “My plans are to release more singles”
If you could collaborate with any artist who would it be and why?
Da’Rell Miller – “Backstreet boys – because I was listening to them since I was five years old. Also, Lil Wayne, Ludacris, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Eminem, Lupe Fiasco, Hopsin, King Los, and Second Chance because they make me want to be a better lyrics”
Kim – “Kygo. Love Love Love Love his work, his sound, his vibe. It would be amazing”
Finally why should we listen to the track?
Kim – “You should always listen to new music. Our ears need it! People make a big mistake of not taking a first taste of anything…remember your parents always said, ‘just try it, if you do not like it, you do not have to eat it.’ And thank goodness we did, or we would all be eating only mashed potatoes”
Da’Rell Miller – “You should listen to this track to open your mind to what’s going on in this world about hating each other for our differences. We should come together so the youth can have a peaceful life that doesn’t involve racial hate”
