Those Howlin’ Sounds are a four-piece rock band from Nottingham, the band is made up by Alex Strongman (Vocals/guitar), Luke White (Guitar), Adam Crooks (Bass) and Kayne Clarke (drums). In September (2017) they released their first self-recorded single ‘Twenty-Five’ and have recently released their 10-track debut album ‘SLEEPWALKER’.
You know when you hear an album, just the once and you become hooked and certain songs from the album gets stuck in your head all day? Sometimes this is the worst thing ever! However, when I heard ‘SLEEPWALKER’ that wasn’t the case, I rather enjoyed having the tracks stuck in my head and tapping along to them and I’m pretty sure my neighbours would agree with me.
One of my personal favourites from the album is ‘Be Through’, it’s phenomenal guitar riffs and an almighty chorus you can only sing along to makes it’s a fantastic song that you have to listen to with your volume turned up to the max. You can’t help but nod or tap along to this track, it’s defiantly not one where you can’t just sit and listen to it. I can imagine this track being a great listening to it live, is bound to get any crowd going.
Each track has been recorded really well and shows some great instrumental talent from all the band members as well as some fantastic vocals by Alex. Their lyrics provided a catchy chorus which will get you singing along with in seconds. An album full of quality songs which you can tell has been put together with a lot of care and attention to detail.
This debut album is a little over 32 minutes of pure talent and refreshing sounds from a band who are not afraid to sound different to what you hear from most bands now a days, it’s catchy and will have you out of your seat singing along. The album is full of energy, amazing riffs and vocals, It’s a fantastic debut album that you need the volume turned up to the max to really enjoy listening to this amazing piece of work.
A talented band and a fantastic debut album! You need to listen to it to find out for yourself how brilliant these guys really are. An exciting band that I can see going far!
