Natalie Taylor Gray is one of the next generation’s most talented singer-songwriters, recording seductively contemporary pop music that bleeds with honesty and emotion. Taking influence from iconic vocalists like Amy Winehouse and Ella Fitzgerald while drawing inspiration from the electro-pop of Lady Gaga, NTG is poised to break through into the mainstream in 2019. Writing music since she was a teenager, Natalie has developed a contemporary aesthetic that takes cues from pop, soul and R&B while remaining true to her unique sound and spirit. Setting her emotive vocals against glossy, chart-ready production and uptempo rhythms, this exceptionally talented artist has crafted an irresistible example of inspirational pop music.

Natalie was kind enough to answer a few questions, here’s what she had to say.

What have you been working on recently? “I have been planning out my music video for ‘Am I Being Honest’. I am super excited as I am shooting it next week!”

Your next single that you’re releasing is ‘Am I Being Honest’. Can you tell us what the track is about? “Most people find it hard to be honest with themselves. ‘Am I Being Honest’ reaffirms that this is actually okay: we’re humans, not robots! The greatest light will emerge from facing our fears and living just outside our comfort zone”

When did you write the song, and what was the recording process like? “I wrote this track about a year and a half ago. I was in LA having a coffee on a balcony looking over the city. I know it sounds very cliché …but at this time I was asking myself a lot of questions about myself, my life, my relationships and choices. I came up with a melody and recorded it straight into my phone. I then went in the studio with a friend of mine Eric who is insanely talented and is an awesome guitarist (he also features on the track) and we just poured out this song. Lyrics flowed and we got a track down. I flew back to London and finished the track with my mate Adam who produced this single and my EP ‘Sick Kind of Love’ which drops on the 24th of May. I am so excited”

You’re currently getting lots of support on radio, how does that feel?                                                    “Aw mate – it’s awesome. I am so grateful that people want to hear what I have to say. Hello radio people who are reading – I would love to be on your show!”

How long have you been writing and performing?     “I have been writing since I was about 14 and I’ve been performing since I was 3 years old”

What are you most looking forward to in 2019?                     “Performing my music and writing new material. Keep your eyes peeled”
