Jay Ebby East has just released his huge new Rock & Roll track ‘In The City Tonight’. The signed singer, guitarist, record producer and songwriter boasts a music style that is reminiscent of Oasis, Neil Young and Richard Ashcroft. Jay resides from the city of Colchester, England. He was brought up listening to music, as his father was also a keen musician. It is evident both lyrically and audibly that he has been heavily influenced by Brit- Pop and Rock music. After a struggle with mental health, Jay Ebby East turned his life around through music. He is a prime example of how music can really save your life.

Here’s what Jay had to say when we got a chance to ask him a few questions.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got into music?

“I’m a male, I guess music has always been in me but it didn’t really come out until later on in my life. My dad was always in bands and we use to talk a lot about music, I think it was in my genes waiting to go. I started by going out in the Rave scene and I got into the dance music, then I got into the studio’s. The Oasis came out who my brother uses to listen to and I picked up a guitar then, I started to write my own music then”

Where do your ideas for songs come from?

“The first album I did there was a lot of stuff in there about situations and stuff that had happened in my life. Stuff about growing up, alcoholism and recovering. It’s a lot of my own experiences”

Can you describe your music in 3 words.

“Yeah, Rock N Roll”

Do you have a favourite venue to play?

“I’ll play anywhere, it’s about the music for me. So long as I’m playing, I’m happy”

Can you tell us about your new single?

“It’s called ‘In The City Tonight’, it’s absolutely amazing track. It’s a rock n roll sounding song full and has to be the best single to date”

Do you have any plans for anymore new music to be realised?

“Yeah, I’ve just come out of Abby Road so there is some new music to come out. There’s another single and EP coming out soon and then a new Album”

What are your plans for 2020?

“I’ve got a tour being sorted out at the moment which I am looking forward to. I’m just going to go out there and smash the life out of it and enjoy every second of it”
