Bolton-based four piece, Devouts, are an emerging band from the resurgence of the Manchester music scene. The band, ranging from ages 15-18, have supported bands such as 25th Hour at The Bread Shed in Manchester, and have just played Manchester Academy 3 supporting Culprits this February. They have also secured festival slots with hometown festivals: Made In Manchester at Bolton Arena. With these hometown billings, they have quickly made a name for themselves amongst the current Manchester music scene.

The band have just released their debut single ‘Something’ which is now available to listen to on Spotify. Adam the lead vocalist from the band say’s the single is about “Something is about these two people who deny having something going on, but all their peers have their suspicions of this. The chorus is told from a first-person narrative, from one of the two in this situation, and they’re starting to worry the denial is in fact the truth, as they truly do wish to be ‘Something’ with the other. The verses come from the point of view of the outsider looking in on this pair and having great suspicion, despite falsely being told otherwise by both of the pair.”

If you are looking for a single from a band which has a heavy approach towards the indie genre and is packed full of energy and will get you to your feet, look no further. This single is amazing, from it’s catchy guitar riff, Adam’s amazing voice to some great guitar riffs it gets you from the first few seconds and you can’t help but tap along to the song. They have managed to make a single which stands out from most songs that come under the same genre which is not an easy thing to do.

A great single from a young band who have managed to create a brilliant debut single, I’m looking forward to hearing more music from this talented young band.
