Amalgamating addictive anthemic pop with chic dance rock, Birmingham’s OPEN ARMS “Encapsulate pop…they do it in such a unique and intelligent way”-Alex Noble (BBC WM & BBC Introducing).Having formed back in 2015, the band has seen various line-up changes and revisions sonically and aesthetically, before the current format was established. Composed of frontman Ben Farmer, guitarist Sam Barratt, drummer Drew Peters and bassist Tom Andrews, OPEN ARMS began as four friends who grew up together finding a common love for music and everything it encompasses.
OPEN ARMS have recently released a new single called ‘Hello’ which is available to listen to now. This was the first time I had listened to any of OPEN ARMS music and within the first few seconds of listening to ‘Hello’ I was enjoying what I was hearing, I quickly became a fan. The single has the soft pop sound and upbeat feel that makes you want to get up and dance, which I feel we all need now during this strange time. It’s catchy choruses combined with slacker-pop sounds makes this track an instant favourite of mine, the lead singer Ben’s vocals along with some catchy lyrics and some great instrumental playing makes this a great track and one I feel would be perfect to hear at a summer festival, we may have to wait a while for that but I just feel this track is full of energy and an instant summer hit.
A great track which you can tell a lot of care and attention to detail has been put into, I can’t wait to here more tracks from this talented band.
