During lockdown I’ve been trying to listen to as much new music as possible, it’s been a dream to just get out for a stroll and listen to new artists/bands and get into what they’re about through their tunes. It’s a good way to clear the mind in what has probably been the weirdest few months of our lives.
I admit I can sometimes be a bit fussy when it comes to new music, it’ll probably take me a few days to get into most tunes. Not this time though. 20 seconds into this and I’m completely hooked. What a talent this chap is. In my opinion there’s no better feeling than hearing someone just sit there and play an acoustic guitar, the feeling and emotions you get from it are incredible and I’ll go as far as saying that this has probably been one of if not my favourite review to date.
This covid business has literally come at the wrong time for the young Geordie, who towards the end of last year hit the jackpot when he got signed to Virgin through none other than one of his idols Noel Gallagher. Now when the chief gets his ears around your music and digs it you know you’re doing something right.
Waiting for the Rain has to be up there as one of the best new tunes around at the minute. Even though it’s a slow paced song the energy and passion you feel from it especially the chorus really moves you. It really is a wonderfully written piece of music.
There’s definitely big things coming Andrews’s way, if he keeps doing what he’s doing and producing tracks like this he’s got a big future in front of him
