Conrad Ashton’s New EP ‘No Post On Sundays’ Is Blazing Rock Poetry.

Let’s delve into the thoughts behind the EP from the man himself – Conrad Ashton talks us through inspiration, music and his dream gig.

What inspired your EP?

“I was bored of just doing singles and didn’t have the budget for an album. I fancied something different and these tracks are a lot deeper than anything I’ve released before – they’re as stripped-back as possible. I realised that baring my soul essentially was the only way to do this”.

What is your favourite track and why?

“‘Like No One Else Do’ – it’s probably the happiest track on there and I was so proud of the melody and overall harmony and dynamics – it all came easy for that one”.

What is the first record you bought?

“‘The Who: The Ultimate Collection’ when I was 9 and had the money – I still had to beg me mam to have it though cause of the use of the word ‘fuck’ in ‘who are you’ hahahaha. Luckily she gave in and The Who have been playing non-stop on my stereo ever since. It’s their music that essentially put me on this path”.

If you had to describe your music in 3 words?

“True To Life”

What is your idea of a great Conrad Ashton gig if money was no object?

“More than 3 people watching would be a good start man! Haha! Nah, a nice sunny afternoon in a field – plenty tinnies and everyone in peace and listening to me singing me heart out”.

‘No Post On Sundays’ by Conrad Ashton is out now on all major streaming and digital platforms.
