Norway’s next breaking alt-pop artist is 22-year-old SKAAR, whose first five singles have all been A-listed at radio in Norway, including her debut track ‘Higher Ground’ which has now exceeded 11 million streams at Spotify.

Who were your musical influences growing up?

“My musical influences where deeeefinitely Coldplay and Foo Fighters. When I grew older the «family» started to expand, and I discovered Banks, Florence + The Machine, Bon Iver, Aurora and so on. These are still my biggest influences!!!”

What has been your best gig?

“By:larm in Oslo this year was my best gig, byyyy far. Wanted to do that gig for about 5 years, and finally it happened. The audience, my band, the energy, everything was just magical. Gahhhh”

Can you tell us a bit about your music?

“Yes! My Music is energetic and big but also vulnerable and tiiiiny. With an indie touch. Not perfect. You should listen to it! Yes my EP of course!! My debut EP is out, and I hope you like it <3”

Can you describe your music in 3 words?

“Energetic, vulnerable, imperfect <3”

What makes your music stand out?

“I am a human. As far as I know, noone is exactly the same as me. My music comes from me and my weird thoughts and feelings, my references and taste. Even though I take ideas from music I love, I put it together in a mixture that noone else would because we are all different! You Get me? :)”

What are your plans for the rest of 2020?

“I’m gonna write aloooot of Music!! Can’t wait ahhhh <3”

If your band had to be remembered for one thing apart from your music what would you want it to be?

“Well, my bassist has the craziest moustache. He looks so cool. I think my whole band including me always would be remembered for only that”.

Do you have any gig’s coming up?

“Maybe! Corona is wrecking alot of plans, but I am going to play for you all. Promise!!!”
