The release of ‘24’ introduced a musician without borders: Daniel Donskoy. Starting in Moscow, Daniel’s career has taken him all over the world, from Germany to North America, the Middle East to London and shows no signs of stopping. Known for acting in various prime-time TV productions including HBO’s Strike Back, BBC‘s Detectorists and Netflix series The Crown, today he shares the official video for his new single ‘24’.

Who were your musical influences growing up?

“From Jamiroquai and Sting, to Freddy Mercury and Michael Jackson, paired with some real melancholic Russian folk music – it was a totally random mix but that’s what happens when you grow up in a Jewish Russian immigrant Family on the outskirts of Berlin and both your parents are musically interested. I am so grateful to have been around so much wonderful music from an early age on.”

What has been your best gig?

“The gamescom in Cologne in 2019. It was one of my first big gigs and I got to warm up for one of my all time favourite song writers Tom Odell. To play for an audience of tens of thousands of people on the main street of Cologne was thrilling. I will never forget this moment when I saw the crowd that seemly stretched into the horizon.”

Can you tell us a bit about your music?

“Over the next couple of months we will release five more tracks. After ‘24’ the next one is called ‘You Robbed me’ which is a very soulful track about the feeling that you’re bereft of everything you loved and every way you understood life when certain people aren’t a part of it anymore. I am very excited cause I know that people will get a true insight into my world after hearing those tracks.”

Can you describe your music in 3 words?

“Urban, Warm, Trippy”

What makes your music stand out?

“That’s a difficult question to answer for the artist himself. I put all my honesty in my music – I believe that feelings are something that truly resonates. I’m trying to share my open view on the world with my listeners and hope they get inspired into feeling just a little more freely.”

What are your plans for the rest of 2020?

“I’m currently in the middle of shooting a German Xmas movie to come out next year, we are also planning the recording of some acoustic versions to the songs about to be released and another music video. That gets me right up to Xmas and God knows how the world is going to look by then.”

If you had to be remembered for one thing apart from your music what would you want it to be?

“For being a positive influence on the people in my immediate surrounding. Be it that I have supported people emotionally, having had the opportunity to listen and just for someone to know that I truly loved and valued them.”

Do you have any gig’s coming up?

“I WISH !!!!!!!!! :(“
