The Nottingham based group began life as a trio at an extremely young age when, aged 10 and 8, brothers Tyler (Vocals and Guitar) and Dion Heaney (Drums) were joined by their 12 year old cousin Luke Childs (Bass). It took school mate James Cahill (Keyboards) to turn the family trio into a quartet.
Inspired by their council estate roots, The Chase named themselves after the very streets on which they were raised. From The Robin Hood Chase, their local precinct, they began their ascent towards capturing the attention of Nottingham though years of local gigs and performing on notorious stages such as Rock City and Rescue Rooms.
‘Wondering’ has everything we have come to expect from The Chase, great instrumentals, brilliant lyrics, catchy beat, and the bands unique sound which in instantly recognisable. As soon as I played this single within seconds I was hooked and tapping along to this catchy track.
It usually takes me a few listens to a new single for me to fully get into it, however this was not the case when I pressed play on incredible track. Within the first few seconds I was sold, the upbeat sound and lyrics had me hooked.
The bands unique sound packs a punch and draws you in. As I was listening to this track I was taken back to the early 00’s, the band’s sound and way the it made me feel I felt like I had gone back in time and I was listening to the bands I use to listen to back in the early 00’s who made me fall in love with music.
They have managed to create an single that shows off their musical talents and combined classic sounds we love to hear with their own unique sounds, The only bad point I have is this single ended far too quickly, I was left wanting to hear more.
