In a time of such political divisiveness, Misao finds that storytelling and relating personal details can help humanize one’s experiences of difference, allowing others to empathize and shift their perspectives, even if only slightly. Her album seeks to provide a voice for those who feel marginalized and disenfranchised while also showcasing her unique and individual experience as a queer, non-binary, mixed-race human in this world.
It’s impossible to not listen to incredible EP from beginning to end, the beautiful vocals, layered and brilliant instrumentals will have you hooked within seconds. It usually takes me a few listens to an EP to fully appreciate it, but this was not the case with this incredible EP, I was sold within seconds of the very first track on this EP.
It was hard for me to pick my favourite track from this EP as each track has its own sound which makes it special. If I really had to pick one that has managed to stand out a little more from the other tracks it would be ‘Blue Boi’, this single instantly builds into a memorable track and lyrics that make you stop and listen to every word. I sat tapping along to this single and instantly had goose bumps, there was something so magical about this track.
This EP shows off Misao musical talents, each track has its own special sound which makes them stand out but at the same time they work so well together in the EP.
A fantastic debut EP!
