Fin Cliff is a 17 year old singer/songwriter from Leicester, he makes indie rock/pop tunes from his bedroom.

Here’s what Fin had to say when we got a chance to ask him some questions.

How did you all meet?

“I am currently not working with a band mainly because of the effect this pandemic has had on all of us. Without meeting up in person it becomes difficult to work creatively online and it takes lot longer to do things that would normally not take too long face to face”.

Who were your musical influences growing up?

“My musical influences stem mainly from growing up around my parents 80’s music, hearing it in the car, too and from school and in the house. I love music from the 80’s and I still listen to it now”.

What made you want to be in a band?

“On one of my birthdays when I was younger my parents took me to see the local Leicester formed band Kasabian after Leicester City won the League. From the second I went into the stadium gig the atmosphere was amazing and when the lights dropped, and the band came out I knew that’s what I wanted to do”.

What has been your best gig?

“I haven’t yet played my first gig but I’m so excited to, I’ve played a few gigs in cover bands but in terms of my solo work, I started that last year at the start of lockdown. Obviously, it was disappointing not to be able to play to an audience after my first few releases but I’m trying to think as positively about it as I can and I look at it as a build-up. Hopefully in the next few months I’ll be able to put on a show!”

Can you tell us a bit about your music?

“My music is heavily influenced by my love for indie rock/pop I like a catchy chorus and a nice mix of Guitars, Drums, Bass and Synths. My latest release “Waiting for you” came out recently and it’s my favourite track that I’ve done so far.

It was a step out of my comfort zone in that it’s very different to the style of music I normally make, it’s a lot heavier and when I wrote it I tried to imagine how a crowd would react to it in a live situation. I wanted to make a song that people could mosh to! The song was also produced by Connor the frontman from the Indie band JAWS he did an excellent job and really brought the track to life”.

Can you describe your music in 3 words?

“Catchy, exciting, intriguing”

What makes your band stand out from others?

“My sound is quite unique it’s loud but easy to listen to at the same time which I find makes for the perfect live experience”.

What are your plans for the rest of 2021?

“My plans For the rest of the year are to continue writing as much music as I can and to try and get some more plays on the radio and finally to do a gig when it’s safe to do so!”

If your band had to be remembered for one thing apart from your music what would you want it to be?

“I would want my music to be remembered as being timeless and I would love to be seen as inspiring people of the younger generation to play music and express themselves”.

Do you have any gig’s coming up?

“I am in the process of planning some gigs for when it’s safe to do so, so keep your eyes peeled!”
