Southampton’s finest two-piece The Vitrines are back with their new track ‘You Give Me Chills’ which is available to stream on all music platforms.

Here’s what the duo had to say when we got a chance to ask them some questions.

How did you all meet?

“It all started because we were in the same music class, we played with each other for different projects and then decided it would make sense to do our own thing”.

Who were your musical influences growing up?

“Anything like The libertines or Slaves. Just something with a bit of punch really I think we are both really into”.

What made you want to be in a band?

“We’re from Southampton so apart from music there’s not really much else to do. Just you see all these people coming up, playing all the small venues, learning all the history and that. You wanna get on it”.

What has been your best gig?

“Definitely the Isle of Wight 2019, that was class, but it seems so long ago because of covid. Can’t wait to get back on it”.

Can you tell us a bit about your music?

“Got a new tune out on the 28th of May called ‘You Give Me Chills’, it’s definitely a step up for us, and the riff is class”.

Can you describe your music in 3 words?

“Vigorous, dynamic and punchy”

What makes your band stand out from the others?

“We’re sticking to be as authentic as possible when it comes to recreating how it sounds, both live and in the studio, we don’t rely on backing tracks or synths to make our sound, what you see is what you get. A lot of bands nowadays are relying on those kinds of things. Not to mention the tunes sound mega”.

What are your plans for the rest of 2020?

“We’ve got the tour booked in this year and some new singles in the works, both of which we’re really excited about. And as always we’re excited to see what doors these could open for us”.

If your band had to be remembered for one thing apart from your music, what would you want it to be?

“Just letting loose and having a good time, you’re only here once, right?”

Any gigs coming up?

“Yeah, as mentioned before, we’ve got the tour booked for these dates”
