Here is our interview with Random Ties.

“Hey everyone we are Random Ties a feel-good rock band from the DMV area in the US, you have Yous [Vocals/Guitar] Ron [Bass] who adds that combination of deep groove & slap that pushes the song forward & bringing the texture to life. Jack [Drums] plays thunderously bringing that heavy-hitting power with amazing fills and breaks”.

How did you all meet?

“We kept on bumping into each other at concerts and were big fans of similar bands and the relationship grew from there”.

Who were your musical influences growing up?

“Although our songs are heavily influenced by great bands coming out of that 90’s grunge era such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters & Soundgarden to name a few we listen to many sorts of music”.

“Jack likes Blues, Rock Jazz & Spanish music & his favourite drummers are Mitch Mitchell & Chad Smith to name a few”.

“Ron started listening to Iron Maiden & Metallica, Guns n Roses at a very young age & is influenced by Steve Harris, Cliff Burton & Flea”.

“Growing up I loved listening to the Beatles, Elvis Presley, Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson”.

What made you want to be in a band?

“The creation of music, the comradery the connection with the listener and how you have the ability to lift a person’s up”.

What has been your best gig?

“I wouldn’t say our best gig weird but more of a touching moment was when a father before a show asked us if he could come up on stage and help us sing “Week 39” dedicating it to his son who was in the audience & that was very fulfilling for us”.

Can you tell us a bit about your music?

“We just finished shooting our latest single “They Don’t Care” which will be released on June 26th. the song is inspired by the on-going conflict in Palestine & abuse of power in Mexico”.

“Energetic Feel Good”

What makes your band stand out from others?

“I’d say if you are into the grunge sound of the 90’s and impacted by bands like Nirvana & Pearl Jam that give us a listen”.

What are your plans for the rest of 2021?

“We are going to get back into the studio & record a few songs we are working on and get some videos done as well and this will take us into December”.

“We are also finalizing an Easter US tour for September & we hope to have those days released soon”.

If your band had to be remembered for one thing apart from your music what would you want it to be?

“We are musicians that were determined to raise the volume on social injustice & abuse of power via our music with songs like “No more””

Any gig’s coming up?

“We will be hitting the road next week with shoes in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Maryland, Baltimore & Virginia so we are pretty excited about that”.
