Rory Gillanders is a Dublin based singer/songwriter who’s influences include Springsteen, Dylan, Ryan Adams and Noel Gallagher.
Although these influencess can be heard in his honest and heartfelt songs, which he delivers with raw and passionate vocals, Rory has developed a sound of his own!
His previous EP’s, ‘Tomorrow Means Nothin’ (2017) and Waiting (2018) have earned him extensive radio play and steady reviews both at home and abroad.
Rory’s latest EP ‘Wilderness’ is a mixture of indie-folk and alt-country whilst combining a personal sound that feels so expressive and unique. using their lyrics and sound to express their emotions, feelings and thoughts.
This EP has everything you would want to hear from an instant memorable EP, a sound which instantly grabs your attention and will have you tapping along and there is no escaping it along with brilliant instrumentals which help to create a catchy, upbeat sound which you will instantly fall in love with. It’s impossible to not listen to incredible EP from beginning to end, the strong vocals and brilliant instrumentals combined with the sounds captures the listeners attention instantly.
It was hard for me to pick my favourite track from this EP as each track is special. If I really had to pick one that has managed to stand out a little more from the other tracks it would be ‘Hurricane’, it’s infectious beat combined with its anthemic chorus had me hooked instantly.
