With fuzzy guitars and a pounding beat, Liverpool’s own Dr Orange returns with his new single ‘W.C.B.T.’. Playing into his self-described brand of ‘hi-frequency rock & roll’, ‘W.C.B.T.’ is a song driven by its unfailing drums and catchy guitar riff. Dr. Orange’s hazy vocals nest perfectly atop the production, creating a song to put on repeat.
2020’s lockdowns saw Dr Orange collaborate with producer Jon Withnall (Coldplay, Rihanna) to create his debut material ahead of his eagerly awaited debut shows this year. After his previous four singles, including the popular ‘Chinatown’ released in February 2021, ‘W.C.B.T.’ aims to grow on his successes and establish Dr Orange as one of Liverpool’s rising stars.
‘W.C.B.T’ started off as a little jangly pop song that I wrote and recorded a while back. It was only actually when I was listening back to it months later that I decided to add the big riff, making that the focal point of the song. I feel like It’s definitely got similarities to my debut single in terms of its intensity and ballsiness and it’s without a doubt one of my favourites to play live. Lyrically I guess it’s about liking someone who’s not interested in you which in turn just makes you like them more – there’s definitely some really cool lines in there. It’s for sure got some apocalyptic space rock vibes going on which just get bigger and bigger as the tune goes on – it’s a proper bop.
This single will have you tapping along as you sit listening to this incredibly catchy track. It quickly builds and before you know it, the chorus that will no doubt be stuck in your head after hearing it for the first time which is a basic guarantee for any track created by Dr Orange.
This single has such a catchy and unique sound you can’t help but fall in love with, for me this single had my full attention from the very beginning, its full of raw energy and a ridiculous amount of talent and I just loved everything about it which is why it’s made it to my playlist and is my favourite track from Dr Orange so far.
Don’t just take my word for it! stick this incredible single on and witness for yourself how brilliant it is!
