Tobias is an interdisciplinary artist/performer, working across mediums and genres. As a musician, he draws on influences from the worlds of free improvisation, experimental ambience, folk and traditional world music, hip hop, avant-pop and naive art. His music pays particular attention to small, subtle sounds, allowing incidental background noise to filter through recordings and into the ambience of his music.

The album is a journey through songs and improvisations, featuring distorted ambience, lo-fi wanderings, found sounds and semi-surreal deconstructions.

It touches on themes of depression, self-abuse, obsession, devotion, redemption and the endless beauty of the vast cosmic soup of nothingness in which we reside. It is raw, intimate, and filled with relentless hope.

The album was recorded primarily with a minimalist set-up in DIY home studios, both in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and on an island in Arctic Norway. It includes ‘one run’ solo improvisations, live band performances which were added to with additional improvisations, and completely ‘studio’ made pieces, with tracks layered from skeleton to living work.

This incredible album is packed full of elegant vocals, chilled and unique sounds, brilliant instruments which capture your attention and there is no escaping from this masterpiece. The album combines all of the above with soul with a classic sound mix with a modern twist.

What I love the most about this album is how each track tells a story which and every track will have you hooked so much that you will listen to every single word without fail. The tracks go through so many emotions, the listener will instantly connect with each track, I believe will relate to a lot of the lyrics.

My favourite track from this incredible album would have to be ‘About Time, with it’s vocals and sound this track builds into a powerful and catchy track which instantly grabbed my attention and had me listening to the track on repeat.

The vocals are something that has stayed consistently strong throughout this album, combined with the instrumentals gives this album a unique sound, each single will have you hooked and will awaken every hair on the back of your neck.

Great job!
