The multi-talented singer, songwriter, actress and dancer had her first professional taste of performing live when HunnyB sang background vocals for Shania Twain at the age of 16.
Wanting to focus on a lifelong career in music, she teamed up with producer, NHD Musiq. In 2014, HunnyB moved to the UK from Canada and started to release music.
Love Like Yours is a modern-day RnB Rap ballad that was created during lockdown over zoom. The song is about being in so many abusive relationships that you’ve been programmed to think that you’re not worthy of true love, so when that true love finally appears, you can’t open yourself up to it.
Listening to the single the first thing that really grabs my attention is HunnyB’s voice, it’s tones, unique sound and magical feel to it really shows through in this single. This combined with Fortunato vocals is something special to hear and will instantly have your full attention.
The lyrics it tells the story perfectly and really gets you thinking, I found myself listening to the track and changing my mind throughout about what, it really caused a debate in my head, but I love that about a single, something that gets you thinking. I also love how relatable the lyrics are, for me the relatability made it even easier for me to connect with this brilliant single.
This is a well-produced single that had been put together with a lot of care and attention to detail, this is not usually the sort of thing I’d listen to, but I must admit I enjoyed listening to the single and I look forward to hearing more from the talented duo.
Great job guys!
