Since his ascension in 2019, West Midlands based The New Consistent has carved out a niche as a rapper with a difference. His silky, bona fide delivery is matched with unique melodies and beats inspired by both modern UK and classic US Hip Hop. The latest EP ‘All Hopes Lost On The Shadowplay’ is available to stream on all music platforms.
The sound on this incredible EP is unique and for me had me hooked within seconds, there is something about this EP and how each track fits perfectly that I instantly loved. As I was listening to the EP I was taken back to my teenage years when I was listening to The Streets which I won’t complain about.
It’s impossible to not listen to incredible EP from beginning to end, the strong vocals and brilliant instrumentals combined with Ben’s own funky and unique sounds captures the listeners attention instantly. The high energy and ability to create memorable songs which all pack a punch in their own way is fun and refreshing to hear.
It was hard for me to pick my favourite track from this EP as each track has its own anthemic sound which makes it special. If I really had to pick one that has managed to stand out a little more from the other tracks it would be ‘Invisible Fears’, it’s infectious beat combined with it’s catchy chorus had me hooked. This single will be stuck in your head after hearing it just the once.
Each track has its own special sound which makes them stand out but at the same time they work so well together in the EP.
