Music has been a huge passion of mine since I was a kid, growing up I use to listen to a lot of my dad’s album’s he had in his collection. I mainly grew up listening to Oasis, Stone Roses, Kasabian, The Prodigy, Cast, The Charlatans, Shed Seven and Inspiral Carpets etc. anything my dad use to play I would listen to I would love it. My first ever favourite song was ‘FireStarter’ by The Prodigy I was about 3 years old, my dad was impressed but I don’t think my mum was as she was more into chart music. As I got older I started to go to gigs and finding new bands to listen to such as Arctic Monkeys, Courteeners and The Fratellis, I also started to collect vinyl’s which again my dad was impressed with. At 18 I started to find some locals bands from around my area and I decided I wanted to see what my city had to offer to the music scene and to find some more good unsigned local talent, I started to search and found some great locals bands and artist. I soon started to find more unsigned bands and artist across the UK and I decided I wanted to help these great bands and artist out, so I started to go to their gigs and write up reviews. I was soon working for a music blog and was helping the bands to get more gigs and getting their names out there. Fast forward a few years I left the music blog I was working for and I decided to start up my own music blog and help these bands and artist out as much as I could.
My two biggest passions are music and football, I support Leicester City and I am a season ticket holder and yes, I cried when we won the Premier League (sad I know) I’m just an emotional mess at football. One of the best gigs I’ve been to has to be Kasabian at The King Power Stadium purely because they are a great band to see live and because of the venue and Leicester had just won the Premier League! to me it was perfect and such a special gig.

Favourite Artists/Bands – Kasabian, Oasis, The Prodigy, The Stone Roses, DMA’s, The Twang, Cast, Jake Bugg, Buddy Holly, The Kinks, The Verve and The Jam.

I’m music and football mad! Music has been a passion of mine since I was a kid, it’s even given me a job. As a kid I spent most of my weekends with my mum and older brother going around watching my uncle play at pubs and working men’s clubs. As I got older my uncle stared to take me to gig’s and local music festivals around the Midlands which I loved. My uncle was into Brit Pop music, so I spent a lot of time listening to his CD’s he had and also a few of my mum’s CD’s which were mainly of Chuck Berry, Johnny Cash and Elvis (Don’t ask I still don’t quite know myself why I use to like them so much). My music taste is different to say the least, I can go from listening to Johnny Cash to Guns n Roses. I started to learn to play the drums when I as 10, when I was 14 my uncle started to teach me how to play the guitar which I fell in love with.
I spend most of my time working at gigs and festivals, going to football, gigs and running around after my son. My goals in life are to make my son happy and proud also to make him a huge Leicester City fan and for him to have a great music taste which is going well so far. My son spends most of his time telling me to stick one of my CDs on and 9/10 he asks for The Stone Roses or one of the local’s bands I listen too (he’s learning well) he is obsessed with The Ruffs. I go to football to watch Leicester City with my lad and sometimes with my older brother we love are Saturday’s at football!

Favourite Artists/Bands – Oasis, The Who, The Stone Roses, Kasabian, Guns n Roses, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Nirvana and The Rolling Stones.

Although I’m a massive music fan now I’d probably say I didn’t really get into it until I started college back in 2004, me and a group of lads became good mates and just literally decided to start listening to bands such as Oasis, the stone roses, the Beatles, The Verve and around that time the likes of the Arctic Monkeys, Bloc Party, The libertines, Kasabian and so on. From then on it was all about the clothes, the trainers and who could grow their hair the longest. We went to plenty of gigs and a fair share of festivals which was mega and I loved every minute of it. Then Back in 2008 I met my now wife of 7 years Jemma, it was literally meant to be as we met dancing to The pigeon detectives ‘I’m Not Sorry’ in a club, since then we haven’t looked back and it’s been an absolute pleasure sharing my life with her. We got married in Feb 2012 in our favourite city Liverpool in no other than the Beatles Hotel the Hard Day’s Night, 2 years later we had our first child, a little chap called Lennon (named after the late great john Lennon and obviously our love for the Beatles) he’s nearly 5 now and is starting to get a love for another of my passions, football. Unlike the others I’m a massive Stoke City fan and have been since I can remember, if Lennon shares half the love I have for that team then I’ll die a happy man. Lastly December 18 saw the birth of our second child, our little lady Luella, she has literally bought massive joy to our hearts and we couldn’t be happier at the minute with how our family life is going.
So yeah that’s me, I’m looking forward to getting stuck into this and giving my views on bands from all over the country to see if we can find some hidden gems out there who just need to be given a chance.
