Gazelle are a Leicester based Rock n Roll band made up by Ryan Dunn (Vocals/Guitar), Ben Gooch (Guitar), Richard Sorbi (Bass) and Danny Wright (Drums). They are four working class lads influenced by the likes of Oasis, The Stone Roses and Joy Division.

I had heard of these guys from a friend who sent me a link to a few of their tracks such as ‘Freight Train’ and ‘On The Promenade’, from what I had heard about the band they sounded like one I would like and I wasn’t wrong. I got to see these guys live when they supported Jersey Budd at his Leicester gig at the 02 Academy and I wasn’t disappointed with what I heard.

Opening with ‘Untold Youth’, they instantly had the crowed drawn in, following that they played ‘Freight Train’ which is one of my favourite tracks of theirs, there is a video from the gig of me and my mates enjoying this track which will never see the light of day again. Where they really shined is with their track ‘Puppets & Parasites’ with its guitar riffs, vocals and upbeat delivery to me this track stands out from the others.

They may not have a lot of experience behind them yet, but seeing them play at the 02 Academy proved that what they do have is a knack for songwriting and a candid stage presence that can’t help but to make you stop and listen to them. What’s instantly obvious is their talent and endless energy, of which fuels the rest of the night.

They have left a good impression on my friend who has now ordered tickets to see them in Leicester at their own headline gig at the 02 Academy on the 22nd April. They are a promising band and are great live, I can see these making waves in Leicester music scene which is much needed. If you get the chance to see them live then go and see them.
