Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Kiara grew up in Finland in a family full of strong women. They encouraged her to follow her love of singing, with Britney Spears being an early favourite. Despite her obvious talent, she suffered from stage fright which her mum helped her overcome by dragging the then 17-year-old to karaoke nights each weekend.

It’s hard to believe that was just five years ago, yet Kiara has both the talent and the personality to make a global breakthrough. She’s upright and independent, with the self-confidence to know that she can be herself rather than the stereotypical pop star persona.

Here’s what she had to say when we got a chance to ask her some questions.

Who were your musical influences growing up?

“My musical influences growing up was Britney Spears and Rihanna. I also loved Christina Aquilera, Amy Winehouse and many more but I’d say Britney and Rihanna were my biggest inspirations. Ariana Grande & Camila Cabello are also big influences to me today”.

What has been your best gig so far?

“Hard question as I feel all of my gigs have been meaningful and great experiences… I think performing on Justin Bieber’s purpose tour was one of the biggest ones for me that i’ll never forget, definitely one of the best ones. However, I do think my favorite performance was at the LIMF festival in Liverpool last summer with M-22, I was so happy on stage and the vibe was amazing!”

Can you tell us a bit about your music?

“Well, with my music I hope to make people feel happy, confident and the need to dance! Confidence is something I really hope people feel whilst listening to my music. Everyone can’t be confident all the time and trust me, I definitely am not confident all the time but that’s what I like about listening to empowering music because you feel on top of the world for a few minutes! Kisses For Breakfast is a cute feel-good song about meeting someone and falling for them even if catching feelings is something you usually don’t do. It describes that beginning of a relationship when you realise you really want to hold on to that special someone and give them kisses for breakfast everyday”.

Can you describe your music in three words?

“Sweet, Confident & Catchy!”

What makes your band stand out from others?

“We always want to keep the melodies and writing fresh. We really try to be clever with lyrics but at the same time keep it catchy. I think my songs have a good balance of that and that makes them stand out to me. My producers are also so good at what they do so they always make the production sound cool & fresh”.

What are your plans for the rest of 2020?

“My plans are to make music, hopefully travel for music/gigs (when it’s possible), connect with people and stay active on social media platforms! You can find me on Youtube, Tikok, Instagram etc”.

If your band had to be remembered for one thing apart from your music what would you want it to be?

“One day I hope to be remembered as a person that people could relate to and connect with genuinely”.

I know it’s difficult to say at the moment, but do you have any gig’s coming up?

“Nothing is set in stone yet, but hopefully soon so stay tuned!”
