Kean Farrar’s alternative R&B casts a magnetic allure on listeners. The 21-year-old has become an insider tip following a handful of underground tracks, earning praise from tastemakers and attention from the fashion world. We got a chance to ask Kean some questions, here’s what he had to say.

Who were your musical influences growing up?

“Everything my mother played from Earth Wind and Fire to Eric Clapton, as well as everything my older brother showed me… 50 Cent, Nirvana and everything in between”.

What has been your best gig?

“Introducing by Melt in Berlin. The venue was intimate, and I got to perform in front of many familiar faces”.

Can you tell us a bit about your new single ‘Always Come Around

“Always Come Around is my nod to the early 2000’s. I made the song with the amazing producer Stickle”.

Can you describe your music in 3 words?

“Ice-cream, bedrooms, and silk”.

What makes your music stand out?

“That’s a hard one for me to answer myself… I rather have my listeners decide for themselves”.

What are your plans for the rest of 2021?

“I plan on releasing my first EP this year”.

If you had to be remembered for one thing apart from your music what would you want it to be?

“The art I create surrounding my music – my videos, the objects, cover-art, etc. The whole package is important to me”.

Do you have any gig’s coming up?

“Unfortunately I do not think so haha. Some things are lined up towards the end of the year, but I do not want to confirm anything until I know things will happen for certain”.
