Dr Orange returns with some of his most authentic, raw and affecting work to date in the form of ‘Chinatown’. It’s a biting piece of British indie rock that’s built on fuzzed out guitars and a lo-fi drum groove, the track builds from hazy and melancholic verses, through to a visceral chanting chorus.
‘’Chinatown is definitely the grooviest single I’ve put out so far. Lyrically it’s about my own frustrations and that of some characters I was empathising with on the tele at the time. Musically I see it as a chilled song that stayed at the bar a bit too long, had one too many measures of funk and ended up in a bit of a heavy state.’ – Dr Orange
opens up slowly, with the laidback vibe the combination of both the guitars and voice will have you tapping along as you sit listening to this incredibly catchy track. It quickly builds and before you know it, the rack kicks up into chorus that will no doubt be stuck in your head after hearing it for the first time.
The single has all the things we expect to hear from this talented artist, relatable lyrics with that 60’s rock n roll feel but with a modern twist. The strong voice combined with the brilliant instrumentals and unique sounds makes this track stand out and if that does not grab your attention straight away the amazing guitar riffs will. This single would be the ideal track to hear live, I can imagine a crowd going crazy as this song is being played.
This single has such a catchy and unique sound you can’t help but fall in love with, for me this single had my full attention from the very beginning, its full of raw energy and a ridiculous amount of talent and I just loved everything about it which is why it’s made it to my playlist and is my favourite track from Dr Orange so far.
Don’t just take my word for it! stick this incredible single on and witness for yourself how brilliant it is!
